1. 密码账本中的网站名称、应用名称、账号、密码、网址、备注和自定义字段;

2. OTP 密钥、发行方、账号名称及动态验证码;

3. 安全保险箱中的身份资料、许可证、财务资料、联系方式、安全文件、图片、附件及自定义内容;

4. 用户设置的 PIN 和数据保护密钥;

5. 本地加密数据库、备份文件及恢复所需的加密信息;

6. WebDAV 服务器地址、账号、应用密码、备份路径及同步设置;

7. 自动填充所需的应用标识(Android 的应用包名 / iOS 的 App 关联域名或 Bundle ID)、网站域名、登录字段及本地凭据匹配信息;

8. 扫描二维码、条形码或文字时产生的图像和识别结果;

9. 用户主动复制、粘贴、导入、导出或分享的内容;

10. 本地操作记录、安全状态、备份记录、同步时间和回收站内容;

11. 语言、主题、自动锁定、通知、网络访问及其他应用偏好设置;

KeyScan User Agreement & Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 27, 2026

Applies to: KeyScan for iOS and KeyScan for Android

Developer: tulkun  ·  https://github.com/tinyproductlab  ·  keyscan.feedback@zohomail.com

Welcome to KeyScan. KeyScan is a local-first, offline-capable data security tool. Please read this policy carefully before using the app, especially the parts about data protection, permissions, backup/restore and limitation of liability.

This policy applies to both KeyScan for iOS and KeyScan for Android. Both versions follow the same privacy principles: your data stays on your own device, and the developer operates no user-data servers. Because the two operating systems differ, permission names, settings paths and some implementation details vary by platform; where that matters, the difference is stated in the relevant clause.

By tapping “Agree and continue” you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to this policy. If you do not agree, tap “Disagree and exit” and stop using KeyScan.

1. Positioning & Core Principles

KeyScan is a local-first, offline-capable data security tool for managing passwords, OTP codes, secure vault items, attachments, backups and related security data on your own device.

KeyScan does not require an online KeyScan account, does not depend on developer servers, and does not sell user data or run ads or behavioral analytics. Core features such as the password ledger, OTP authenticator, secure vault, password generator and local backup work without an internet connection.

2. User Data & How It Is Processed

Depending on the features you use, KeyScan may process the following data locally on your device:

1. Website/app names, accounts, passwords, URLs, notes and custom fields in the password ledger; 2. OTP secrets, issuer, account names and dynamic codes; 3. Identity, license, financial, contact, security files, images, attachments and custom content in the secure vault; 4. Your unlock PIN and data protection key; 5. Local encrypted databases, backup files and recovery information; 6. WebDAV server address, account, app password, backup path and sync settings; 7. App identifiers (Android package names / iOS associated domains or bundle IDs), web domains, login fields and credential match information used by autofill; 8. Images and recognition results produced when you scan QR codes, barcodes or text; 9. Content you actively copy, paste, import, export or share; 10. Local operation records, security status, backup records, sync time and trash content; 11. Language, theme, auto-lock, notification, network and other preference settings; 12. Local crash logs generated while the app runs (used only for on-device troubleshooting; you can view, export or delete them).

This data is stored mainly on your device or at locations you choose. Except when you actively configure or enable a feature, KeyScan does not send this content to the developer.

3. Local Storage & Encryption

KeyScan protects user data with a local encrypted database and related security mechanisms. On first setup you create an unlock PIN and a data protection key; these are used to derive protection keys for the database key, backup files and other sensitive information.

KeyScan may combine encrypted storage, the data protection key, PIN-derived keys, random database keys, the operating system’s secure key store, AES-GCM, biometric authentication, restricted display/copy of sensitive content, auto-lock and secure window protection.

The secure key store differs by platform: the Android version uses Android Keystore; the iOS version uses the system Keychain (keys are marked this-device-only and are never synced to iCloud Keychain) and, where the device supports it, the Secure Enclave. The iOS version additionally uses system file Data Protection so the local database and attachments are readable only while the device is unlocked.

No security technology can provide absolute guarantees. Rooted or jailbroken devices, modified systems, leaked PINs or keys, and malicious keyboards or apps can all reduce data security.

4. PIN & Data Protection Key

The PIN is used for daily unlock and authentication. The data protection key strengthens protection of the database and backups. Please keep your PIN, data protection key and downloaded key files safe: the developer does not hold them and cannot recover them for you.

If you lose both the PIN and the data protection key (and any key files), encrypted data may become unrecoverable. Never share your PIN, data protection key, backup files or WebDAV credentials with untrusted people.

5. Fully Offline Use

You can use KeyScan fully offline without configuring any WebDAV, cloud storage or LAN sync. In offline mode, core data stays on the current device; KeyScan does not send passwords, PINs, keys, OTPs or vault content to developer servers, and local backup, import and export remain available.

You are responsible for device security and safe storage of backups. Uninstalling the app, clearing app data, or losing/damaging the device may make local data unrecoverable. We recommend creating encrypted backups and storing them and their recovery information in safe, separate places.

6. Network, WebDAV & Online Sync

KeyScan has network capability, but that does not mean it automatically uploads your data to the developer. Network features are used to connect to WebDAV services you configure yourself, upload/download encrypted backups, list WebDAV backups, run sync you have enabled, discover devices and transfer data on the same LAN, and support share/import/restore features you actively use.

When you configure WebDAV you provide the server address, account, app password and directory yourself. WebDAV may be provided by Nutstore, Koofr, a NAS or another third-party service. Encrypted backup files may be uploaded to that third-party server, which may receive connection IP, access time, file names, sizes and other necessary network information, governed by that service's own policies.

If you enable auto-sync, KeyScan may connect to your configured WebDAV service on app launch, data changes or scheduled conditions. You can disable auto-sync or remove the WebDAV configuration at any time. Local core features work without WebDAV.

7. LAN Transfer

KeyScan may offer same-LAN device discovery, backup migration, credential sharing or file transfer. These functions only open a temporary connection when you actively enable them.

Other devices on the LAN may observe your device's LAN address, temporary service port or connection information. Use this feature only on trusted networks and close the screen when done.

On iOS, the system prompts for the "Local Network" permission the first time you use LAN discovery or transfer. Denying it only disables LAN transfer; you can change it later under Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network.

8. Camera Permission

Camera permission is used to scan QR codes, barcodes and OTP setup codes, and for text recognition you actively start. KeyScan uses the camera only after you enter a scanning feature and grant permission.

Denying camera permission disables camera scanning but leaves the password ledger, manual OTP, secure vault, password generator and other non-camera features usable. Current versions use on-device barcode/text recognition; KeyScan does not upload scan images or results to developer servers.

9. Files, Images & Storage Access

KeyScan may access files, images or directories you actively choose, for importing/restoring backups, importing data protection key files, reading QR codes from images, adding vault attachments, exporting data, choosing local backup folders, and managing backups.

KeyScan prefers the system file and photo pickers, so you choose each item yourself; selecting one file does not scan your whole device. On Android this is the system file/photo picker (older Android versions may require storage write permission to save files you export). On iOS this is the Files and Photos picker; the iOS version neither requests nor can obtain full-disk storage access and can only read items you pick each time. Files you export to public/download folders, the Files app or third-party file managers are not KeyScan private data and may remain after uninstall.

10. Notification Permission

Notification permission may be used for backup/restore status, WebDAV sync status, clipboard import reminders, autofill or security action prompts and other status updates for features you enable. KeyScan only requests notification permission when the system requires it.

Denying it does not affect core local features, but you may miss background status or reminders. You can disable KeyScan notifications anytime in system settings (Android: Settings → Apps → KeyScan → Notifications; iOS: Settings → Notifications → KeyScan).

11. Biometrics

KeyScan can use the operating system's biometric verification to authenticate you — fingerprint, face or other supported methods on Android, Face ID or Touch ID on iOS — e.g. unlocking KeyScan, viewing sensitive info, viewing the data protection key, copying sensitive content and confirming high-risk actions.

Fingerprint/face images and biometric templates are managed by the operating system and device security hardware (Android’s trusted execution environment / Apple’s Secure Enclave) and are not accessible to KeyScan. KeyScan only receives success/failure/cancel results and never reads, stores or uploads your raw fingerprints or facial features. Support and security level depend on the device.

12. Autofill Service

KeyScan provides system-level autofill: an Autofill Service on Android and an AutoFill Credential Provider extension on iOS. On both platforms it takes effect only after you enable KeyScan in system settings.

It may process the current app identifier (Android package name / iOS associated domain or bundle ID), web domain, account/password/new-password/confirm-password fields on login pages, page structure and field hints, and locally stored credential information used for matching.

On iOS the AutoFill extension is a separate process from the main app and reads local encrypted data through a shared App Group container. Matching happens entirely on-device; the extension does not upload user data.

When a login page contains a one-time code (OTP) field, KeyScan may match saved TOTP records locally and offer a dynamic code candidate. When it detects a change-password form (new/confirm password fields), KeyScan may prompt you to update the matching entry in your local ledger. All matching and prompting happens locally.

KeyScan never submits login, registration or change-password forms automatically; check the target site, app and domain before filling. You can disable KeyScan autofill anytime in system settings (Android: Settings → Passwords, passkeys & autofill; iOS: Settings → General → AutoFill & Passwords).

13. Clipboard

KeyScan may use the system clipboard when you actively copy accounts, passwords, keys, OTPs, vault content or scan results, or import clipboard content you share into KeyScan. For some sensitive content KeyScan attempts to clear the clipboard after a short time (e.g. about 30 seconds for the data protection key).

However, the operating system, keyboards, clipboard-sync features (such as Apple Universal Clipboard or Android clipboard history) and other apps with clipboard access may read or retain content before it is cleared. KeyScan cannot guarantee other software has not copied, synced or kept clipboard history.

14. Network State, Wi-Fi & LAN Discovery

KeyScan may read whether the network/Wi-Fi is available and LAN connection state, to decide if WebDAV can connect, run sync you enabled, discover same-LAN devices, support transfers you start, and avoid repeated sync when offline. These permissions are not used to obtain your precise location.

15. Vibration & Feedback

KeyScan may vibrate for scan success, operation completion, error warnings or security prompts. Vibration involves no personal data and can be controlled through system settings.

16. Backup, Restore & Migration

KeyScan supports local backup, WebDAV backup, restore and device migration. Backups may contain passwords, OTPs, vault items, attachments, configuration and related data and are therefore highly sensitive; KeyScan encrypts backups according to its current security design.

Restoring may require the same PIN, data protection key, key file or other verification used at creation. The developer does not hold recovery credentials and cannot bypass encryption to help recover backups. Keep backup files and key files in different safe locations, and verify the source of a backup before restoring.

17. Trash & Data Deletion

Deleted items may first go to a local trash for recovery; trash content stays on-device and remains protected. Emptying trash or permanent deletion removes content from KeyScan-accessible data. Due to database/flash mechanics, backup copies, export files or third-party sync, permanent deletion may not immediately overwrite every physical copy.

Uninstalling or clearing app data usually deletes the app's private on-device data. Files you exported, downloaded key files, public-directory backups and WebDAV files do not disappear with uninstall.

18. Data Retention

Local data is kept until you delete it, empty the trash, clear app data, uninstall, perform an overwriting restore, or the operating system reclaims storage. Retention of export files, public-directory files and WebDAV backups is decided by you and the relevant storage service. Because the developer has no user-data servers, it cannot remotely view, delete, recover or modify your local or WebDAV data.

19. In-App Purchases

KeyScan offers a paid one-time unlock of Pro features — a single purchase, with no subscription or auto-renewal. It is processed by the official billing service of the platform: Google Play Billing on Android, and Apple App Store In-App Purchase (StoreKit) on iOS.

The payment flow is handled entirely by Google Play or the Apple App Store. KeyScan does not collect or store your card number, payment password or other full payment credentials; it only stores your purchase state locally (e.g. whether Pro is unlocked) to provide the corresponding features.

Google and Apple may process purchase-related account, payment and device information under their own privacy policies. You can restore purchases in-app after uninstall, data clearing or changing devices, using the same Google account or Apple Account you purchased with.

Please note: a purchase belongs to the store account used to make it and cannot be transferred between Google Play and the App Store. Pro bought on Android cannot be restored on iOS, and vice versa. This is set by the two stores’ billing rules and the developer cannot change it.

20. Third-Party Components & Services

KeyScan may use operating-system frameworks and third-party open-source libraries. The Android version may use Android system components, AndroidX, Google ML Kit, database encryption components and QR recognition libraries; the iOS version may use Apple frameworks such as Vision, Core Image, AVFoundation, CryptoKit, LocalAuthentication, AuthenticationServices and StoreKit, plus necessary open-source libraries. Neither version integrates advertising SDKs, behavioral analytics SDKs or third-party crash-reporting services. These components may process necessary device, compatibility or diagnostic information per the OS or component itself. KeyScan does not proactively send your passwords, PINs, keys, OTPs, vault content or scan results to developer servers.

When you use third-party WebDAV, file managers, keyboards, browsers, share targets or cloud storage, their own terms and privacy policies apply.

21. What We Do NOT Do With Your Data

The current version of KeyScan does not: require an online KeyScan account; operate user-data servers; upload your password database, PIN or data protection key to the developer; sell, rent or trade user data; integrate ads; use behavioral analytics or ad profiling; send your passwords/OTPs/vault data for marketing; secretly turn on the camera or microphone in the background; require contacts, SMS, call logs or precise location; or collect or store your card number, payment password or other full payment credentials.

If future versions add new online services, accounts, data collection or third-party services, this policy will be updated and, when necessary, your consent will be requested again.

22. Permission Management

KeyScan requests permissions as you actually use features rather than all at once at first launch. You can deny non-essential permissions and revoke any permission anytime in system settings (Android: Settings → Apps → KeyScan → Permissions; iOS: Settings → KeyScan, or Settings → Privacy & Security). Denying a permission only disables the related feature; other local features keep working.

23. User Responsibilities

Keep your device, PIN, data protection key and backup files safe; use a reliable lock screen and biometrics; create and verify encrypted backups regularly; avoid exposing sensitive data on untrusted devices or networks; confirm the target app and domain before autofilling; keep your operating system and KeyScan updated; do not use KeyScan to store or process unlawful content or infringe others' rights; and confirm that your WebDAV and storage services are trustworthy.

24. Service Availability & Limitation of Liability

KeyScan strives to provide safe, stable local data management but cannot guarantee flawless operation on every device, ROM or network environment. Lost PINs/keys/backups, uninstall or data clearing, device damage, loss, rooting or jailbreaking, unavailable or deleting WebDAV services, restoring wrong/corrupt/incompatible backups, filling credentials into phishing sites or malicious apps, malicious keyboards/clipboard sync, and OS/hardware/third-party vulnerabilities may cause unavailability or data loss.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you are responsible for your own credential custody, backup choices and third-party service usage. This clause does not exclude liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law.

25. Minors

KeyScan is not designed specifically for children. Minors should use it under the guidance of a parent or guardian, who should help them understand the risks of passwords, data protection keys, backup files and network sync. Where applicable law requires guardian consent, features should only be used after obtaining it.

26. Policy Updates

This policy may be updated as features, security design, legal requirements or third-party services change. Updates that add data collection, change data usage, add developer servers, add account systems or otherwise materially change the policy will be shown in-app and, when necessary, consent will be requested again. Non-material wording adjustments may be noted via the effective date.

27. Open Source

KeyScan code or parts of it may be released as open source. Developer page: https://github.com/tinyproductlab. Use, copying, modification and distribution of open-source code follow the license in the corresponding repository. Publishing source code does not mean your locally stored data, passwords, keys or backups are made public.
